Peachgrove Intermediate School's Korowai Curriculum is all about helping students learn and grow in a well-rounded way. It’s designed to make learning exciting and meaningful for everyone, no matter their background or interests.

At the heart of the curriculum are the PRIDE values:

  • Positive: Having a great attitude towards learning and life.

  • Respectful: Treating others and the environment with care.

  • Inclusive: Making sure everyone feels welcome and valued.

  • Determined: Sticking with challenges and trying your best.

  • Engaged: Being focused and involved in learning.

The curriculum is called a "korowai" (a traditional Māori cloak) because it symbolises the idea of wrapping students in support, culture, and opportunities. It includes:

  • Cultural Connections: Students learn about Māori traditions (tikanga Māori) and the school has a bilingual unit, Tīma Tahi, to celebrate language and identity.

  • Specialist Classes: Students can explore areas like sports, arts, and Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) to follow their passions.

  • Belonging and Positivity: The school creates a safe, friendly environment where diversity is celebrated, and everyone is encouraged to thrive.

In short, the Korowai Curriculum is all about preparing students for the future by helping them grow as confident, capable, and caring individuals.
